The Falcons traveled to Houston to take on the Texans in Week 5, hoping to bounce back from a tough loss the week before. While the outcome of the game wasn't what Falcons fans wanted, there were some positives and negatives from a fantasy perspective.
Stud: Cordarrelle Patterson, RB/WR
Patterson continued his breakout season with another big performance against the Texans. He was the workhorse for the Falcons offense, taking 18 carries for 106 yards rushing and a touchdown. He also added 4 receptions for 24 yards receiving. Patterson is establishing himself as an every-week starter in PPR leagues with his dual-threat abilities. As long as he maintains this role in the Falcons offense, Patterson looks like an RB1/WR2 type player for the rest of the season.
Dud: Kyle Pitts, TE
After a monster game in Week 4, Pitts came back down to earth with a quiet outing against Houston. He caught just 2 of 3 targets for 19 yards. The Texans did a good job of limiting Pitts' opportunities and the Falcons struggled to get him involved in the red zone. It's just one down game for the talented rookie, but it highlights that Pitts is still dependent on finding the end zone to have big fantasy days. His boom-or-bust outlook makes him risky as a TE1.
The Falcons will hope to get Pitts more involved when they face the Jets at home in Week 5. But Cordarrelle Patterson continues to be the safest starting option for fantasy managers from this Atlanta offense.
